New Metallic Prints in the Studio

Print delivery day is always a great, but this new batch I got in are really special. There’s no better feeling for me than seeing a film composition when it’s enlarged and printed, and really it’s the first time the art “exists” as something to be regarded and appreciated. Last week I printed a variety of new and old works on a metallic paper to see how they would look, and they turned out quite beautiful, particularly these pieces from the JOYAS series:

I also printed two pieces from the MT. TAKAO series on the metallic paper and they completely exceeded my expectations. I received a lot of positive feedback about these compositions when. I posted the initial film scans online, but they are impressive at this size. I have yet to trim these prints, but the image size on these finished prints will be 24”x40”, with a frame size of 28”x44”, or potentially smaller.

I printed a few pieces from my Abstract Istanbul series, a set of works from film I shot in Turkey in 2014. I hadn’t yet printed or exhibited any of this work so I printed two of the pieces, which I’ll possibly do some screenprinting onto, similar to the Rainier Botany series.

And a little reminder from your humble working artist - first thank you for your time and interest in looking at the work. There’s a lot of things out in the world competing for your attention so I truly appreciate you taking time to look at, like, or comment on my work. And second, all of the prints you see here (or anywhere on my website) are available for purchase - framed or unframed - and ready to be shipped directly from my studio to you. Contact me here if you have any questions, comments or would like to know more about any of these pieces. Thanks!
